Avatar Meher Baba
Meher Baba (1894-1969) was born Merwan Sheriar Irani in Pune, India. He declared himself to be the Avatar—God in human form—the same Ancient One who has manifested as Zoroaster, Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad.
From July 10, 1925, until his passing on January 31, 1969, Meher Baba maintained complete silence, communicating first through an alphabet board and later through unique hand gestures. His silence was not undertaken as a spiritual exercise but was, he said, necessary for his universal work.
Meher Baba's message is simple: He did not come to establish a new religion but to revitalize all religions and help humanity realize the one truth at the core of all faiths.
“I have come not to teach but to awaken. Understand therefore that I lay down no precepts.”
What is Mandali?
The word “Mandali” refers to the close disciples and companions of Meher Baba who lived and worked with him throughout his life. They dedicated their lives to serving him and his mission.

Today, groups of Meher Baba's followers around the world gather as “mandalis” to share in fellowship, study his teachings, and keep his message of love alive in their communities.
The spirit of mandali is one of selfless service, unconditional love, and dedication to the divine presence that Meher Baba represents.
